πŸ’‰ NCLEX Quick Tip of the Day β€” Blood Transfusion Reactions

This is a PRIORITY question favorite on the NCLEX πŸ‘‡

If a transfusion reaction is suspected, your actions must be FAST and in the right order:
βœ… STOP the transfusion first
βœ… Keep the IV open with normal saline
βœ… Call the provider
βœ… Send the blood and tubing to the lab

🚨 Common mistake: Calling the provider before stopping the blood β€” and that can cost you the question AND patient safety.
Remember this order: STOP β†’ SALINE β†’ PROVIDER β†’ LAB

🩸 NCLEX Quick Tip of the Day β€” Iron Supplements

Iron only works if your patient is taking it the right way πŸ‘‡

βœ… Take on an empty stomach (if tolerated)
βœ… Dark stools are normal β€” don’t panic!

🚨 Common mistake: Taking iron with milk, coffee, or antacids β€” these all decrease absorption and make the med less effective.

Know this for the NCLEX AND for real-life patient teaching!
