Live Entertainment on deck: Asa & Matteo
• Performances supported •
• Artists selected •
• Campus brought to life •
From concerts to comedians, these two help make the moments that turn into memories. Meet your CAC Live Entertainment team!
🌟 Asa Dockter (he/him)
CMR & Computer Science | Sophomore | Grand Rapids, MN
A campus connector through and through, Asa splits his time between KUMM, the University Register, CA life, and every club meeting in the MRC basement. He loves being part of the student experience, fueling up with a Frozen Hot Chocolate, and proudly stands by his anti‑ranch, anti‑mayo agenda.
🌟 Matteo Schneider (he/him)
CMR major | French & Art minors | Junior | Edina, MN
A quiet creative with serious tech skills, Matteo helps bring shows to life from behind the scenes. When he’s not supporting events or working with MCSA, you’ll find him tucked into his favorite library couch near the graphic novels — the perfect spot for a sometimes soft‑spoken Live Ent wizard with “Cat Piano” energy.

🗣️✨ Performing Arts Series — Penultimate Performance of the 2025/26 Season!
Step into the powerful legacy of one of America’s greatest orators and abolitionists with Frederick Douglass: In the Shadow of Slavery — a compelling one-man theatrical performance starring acclaimed actor and director Mel Johnson Jr.
This moving production chronicles Douglass’s extraordinary journey—from a childhood in slavery to becoming a nationally revered leader in the fight for freedom, justice, and equality. Through gripping storytelling, evocative plantation songs, and immersive lighting and sound design, Johnson brings Douglass’s courage and brilliance to life with emotional depth and historical insight.
You’ll also hear about Douglass’s enduring impact—his perilous escape to freedom, his iconic speeches, and his connections with historical figures like Susan B. Anthony, John Brown, and Abraham Lincoln.
You may recognize Johnson from Total Recall, and from Broadway productions including The Lion King and Eubie!—and he delivers a performance that’s both deeply personal and universally resonant.
