CJC | In-Home Daycare… where your child’s heart is safe, their mind grows strong, and everyone is treated like family 🩵 Together, we have an infant son.

Here’s a little bit about me… I am a 36 year old mom originally from Long Island, NY who moved to Mooresville, NC in June of 2018. I have two children, a forever 16 year old angel son and an 11 year old daughter, and my fiancé has a 14 year old daughter. We also have two dogs- Sam, a 3 year old Boxer mix and Ace, a 2 year old German Shepard. Both pups are great with children of all ages. If there

Fell off the wagon coming back from spring break but here’s a little photo dump of our adventures the past two weeks…

- “car wash” station
- water play/kiddie pool
- arts & crafts
- rock painting
- making wishes
- picnics
- gardening
- nature hike
- nature museum
- caterpillar hunt

Just a little reminder that learning doesn’t only happen with worksheets, flashcards, or sitting at a table. For young children, play is learning. When kids are exploring, building, pretending, and interacting with the world around them, they’re developing critical skills like problem-solving, language, creativity, and social awareness 🩵

Adults see a field of these and think “omg look at all these weeds!” A child sees a field of these and thinks “omg look at all these wishes!”

… it’s all about perspective 💕

Tracing lines might seem simple, but they’re actually doing a lot of important developmental work for preschoolers:

✏️ 1. Builds Fine Motor Skills

Tracing helps strengthen the small muscles in the hands and fingers—these are the same muscles kids need for writing, buttoning clothes, and using utensils.

🧠 2. Improves Hand-Eye Coordination

Kids learn to guide their hand based on what they see, which is a key skill for writing, drawing, and everyday tasks.

🔤 3. Prepares for Writing

Before children can form letters, they need to understand basic strokes (lines, curves, zig-zags). Tracing gives them that foundation in a low-pressure way.

🎯 4. Develops Focus & Control

Following a line requires attention and control, helping build early concentration skills and patience.

📐 5. Introduces Directionality

Tracing left to right (like reading and writing in English) helps kids start understanding how text flows.

🎨 6. Boosts Confidence

Because tracing has a clear path to follow, kids often feel successful—and that confidence carries over into other learning activities.

There’s so much more happening during block play than meets the eye 🧱✨

While the kids are busy building towers, houses, and “cities,” they’re actually developing important skills that will support them for years to come.

Block play helps strengthen fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and problem-solving as they figure out how to balance and build. It also introduces early math and STEM concepts like size, shape, and stability—through play!

Even more special is the social side of it. Working together to create something encourages teamwork, communication, sharing, and patience. And when those towers fall (because they always do!), they’re learning resilience and trying again.

Most importantly, block play gives children the freedom to use their imagination and feel proud of what they create 💛

Watching little minds work together is such a beautiful thing 💛

Group projects in preschool aren’t just about the final product… they’re about the learning that happens along the way. Through shared activities, children are building important life skills like cooperation, communication, and problem-solving.

They learn how to take turns, share ideas, and listen to one another. They begin to understand feelings, practice patience, and experience what it means to be part of a team. And maybe most importantly… they feel proud knowing they helped create something together.

These moments are where confidence grows, friendships deepen, and creativity truly shines ✨

Learning together, growing together 💕

Stayed tuned to see their final project 😊
