Dr. Keturah Adams Blog A reflective space for professionals navigating career shifts, life changes, and seasons of redirection

You rarely feel fully prepared for what you’re growing into.

Moses didn’t feel ready.
Jeremiah didn’t feel ready.
Esther didn’t feel ready.

Yet God met them in the movement.

𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞.

It is the result.

So if you’ve been waiting to feel completely ready before taking the next step, consider this:

Maybe readiness is being formed as you walk.

“Commit your works to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” — Proverbs 16:3

Take the step.

Clarity often follows obedience.

We spend most of our lives in the middle.

Becoming.
Proving.
Trying to hold everything together.

And somewhere along the way, we lose the ease we once had.

But peace was never meant to be something you discover at the end.

It’s something you live in.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

Stillness is not inactivity.

It’s choosing moments where you are not performing and striving,

just present.

If you’re in a season of transition, this is critical.

Not every next step requires more effort.
Some require more stillness.

So instead of waiting for life to slow down…

Create space to return to that inherent peace.

Even when you don’t have the answers,
you are still held by God purposefully.

Not loosely.
Not temporarily.

So breathe…
you’re not slipping.

Nothing about this moment
has taken you out of His hands.

Speak Spirit

03/20/2026

Ask yourself:
• Are we still going in the same direction?
• Or am I following what’s familiar over what’s right?

Transition will require you to choose.

Speak Spirit.

03/11/2026

Sometimes the hardest part of transition is the lack of visibility.

You’re moving forward, but you can’t see very far ahead.
Decisions feel weighty.
The path feels unfamiliar.

And in those moments it’s easy to assume something is wrong.

But often nothing is wrong.

You’re simply in the clouds.

Pilots don’t turn back every time visibility drops.
They stay steady and keep climbing.

Eventually the clouds break.

Sometimes God doesn’t remove the uncertainty immediately.
He carries you through it until your perspective rises above it.

“Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,
and He brought them out of their distress.”
Psalm 107:28

If this season feels unclear, don’t panic.

Stay steady.
Keep moving.
Trust the climb.

The view changes above the clouds.

Speak Spirit,
for professionals navigating any life and career transition

Praise Your Way Through

There are moments you can’t intellectually process.

You try to reason it out.
You replay it.
You ask how.
You ask why.

And still… it doesn’t settle.

Some things you simply cannot wrap your mind around.

So what do you do then?

When logic runs out.
When strength feels thin.
When what just happened should have broken you, halted you.

You praise.

Because praise shifts the source of your strength.

Through praise, joy begins to stir.
Deep, anchored joy.

And that joy is not from you.

The joy of the Lord becomes your strength.

That’s how you know it’s extra-ordinary.

Because what should have crushed you doesn’t.
What should have silenced you doesn’t.
What should have stopped you doesn’t.

Instead, something rises.

It’s strength.

When you praise in moments that make no sense, you step into that strength that isn’t dependent on understanding but God’s.

That’s the shift.

That’s the turning point.

And today, if you’re in a place where your mind cannot make sense of what you experienced,
don’t force clarity.

Praise.

Joy unspeakable will meet you there.

There’s something about starting over that makes you want to get it perfect this time.

The right job.
The right city.
The right business.
The right direction.

You tell yourself: If I just choose correctly, everything will finally click.

So you analyze.
You research.
You compare.
You hesitate.

You obsess over the choice.

But here’s the thing:

The decision is not the breakthrough.

The commitment is.

You can choose the right opportunity and still neglect it.
You can select the right path and still refuse to tend it daily.
You can step into alignment and still sabotage it through inconsistency.

Transition isn’t about discovering the “perfect next thing.”

It’s about committing to build what you chose.

Because a new chapter is fragile.

It doesn’t become strong just because it’s exciting.
It becomes strong because it’s developed.

You have to water it.
Strengthen it.
Protect it.
Stay with it long enough for roots to form.

And roots take time.

They grow underground; unseen, uncelebrated, unnoticed.

But that hidden growth is what sustains visible success later.

Many people restart.
Few people build.

So if you’re in a new chapter right now, resist the urge to perfect the choice.

Instead, strengthen your commitment.

Don’t just pick the next thing.

Build the next thing.

Everything Is Feedback

Not failure.
Not rejection.
Not delay.

Feedback.

We are quick to label experiences as losses.
We call it a setback when something doesn’t move.
We call it rejection when someone doesn’t respond.
We call it delay when timing doesn’t align with our expectations.

But what if it’s none of those things?

What if it’s information?

Feedback doesn’t arrive to condemn you.
It arrives to clarify you.

It shows you what works.
It exposes what doesn’t.
It reveals blind spots.
It refines strengths.
It redirects energy.

And if you are bold enough to receive it, truly receive it, it will not break you.

It will build you.

Because feedback is not an attack on your identity.
It is an invitation to upgrade your alignment.

Consider the professional in transition.

You applied for the promotion.
You had the credentials.
You prepared for the interview.
And someone else was selected.

Failure?
Or feedback?

Maybe it revealed a skill gap.
Maybe it exposed a visibility issue.
Maybe it clarified that leadership wanted a different direction.

Information.

Or the entrepreneur who launched the program, confident, hopeful and only three people enrolled.

Rejection?
Or feedback?

Maybe the messaging wasn’t clear.
Maybe the audience wasn’t warmed up.
Maybe the offer needs refinement.

Information.

Or the professional who left a stable role to pivot careers only to experience months of silence, slow traction, or unexpected difficulty.

Delay?
Or feedback?

Maybe your capacity is stretching.
Maybe your identity is recalibrating.
Maybe you are being strengthened before scale.

Information.

The project that didn’t gain traction.
The conversation that didn’t land.
The opportunity that didn’t open.
The silence that followed your effort.

None of it is wasted.

It is feedback.

Feedback about timing.
Feedback about positioning.
Feedback about capacity.
Feedback about readiness.
Feedback about fit.

And here’s the powerful part: feedback is neutral until you interpret it.

If you interpret it as failure, you shrink.
If you interpret it as rejection, you withdraw.
If you interpret it as delay, you grow impatient.

But if you interpret it as feedback, you adjust.

You refine.
You reposition.
You strengthen.

Feedback doesn’t come to shame you.
It comes to shape you.

It feeds you back into the person you were always becoming…
more aware, more discerning, more resilient, more aligned.

Everything that feels like resistance is not opposition.
Some of it is instruction.

So the next time something doesn’t unfold the way you expected,
don’t rush to label it.

Pause.

Ask:
What is this teaching me?
What is this revealing?
How is this refining me?

Because when you stop defending your ego and start receiving information,
growth accelerates.

Everything is feedback.

And if you’re willing to receive it,
it will not break you,

It will build you.
