I know I've already posted about this a few times, but if anyone is interested, my friend, a Critical Care Paramedic, who's been serving in EMS for more than 30 years will be teaching an EMT class in the Belle Plaine area in February. The class typically lasts about one semester, the in person sessions will be in Belle Plaine and Chelsea, through Marshalltown Community College. This class will also be used for people who are already EMTs as a refresher and then they will continue with training to obtain the Advanced EMT certification. In person EMT classes have become pretty rare here in eastern Iowa, so this is an opportunity that is not guaranteed to happen again in the near future, and the price is nearly $1000 less than the other local colleges are offering it for. This class does not mean that you are obligated to volunteer on a service in Benton County, you can utilize it anywhere as long as you obtain national and state certification through the national registers testing. If you're someone in the Cedar Rapids or Belle Plaine area, who works in law or fire, and want to add EMS to your resume, this is a great opportunity, or if you work a different type of job and happen to have occasional free time you want to burn, this is also a great opportunity. Please consider it. π If anyone is interested or you know somebody who may be interested, please let me know. Thanksπππ
