📌 Frequently Asked Questions — Highland Academy

We’re so encouraged by the excitement and questions surrounding Highland Academy! Plans are still tentative as we build and pray through details, but here are answers to common questions:

• What is a microschool?
A microschool is essentially homeschool families coming together with a designated teacher, creating a small learning community with personalized instruction and strong family involvement.

• What grades will you serve?
We will begin with Kindergarten through 3rd grade, with hopes to grow with our students and as God provides and leads.

• What will a typical day include?
Bible and prayer, focused academics, and outdoor/life- skills learning where students pursue interests and passions.

• Will there be classroom support staff?
Yes, we plan to hire one full-time or two part-time aides/ paraprofessionals. Interest can be selected on the teacher interest form.

• Will lunch be provided?
At this time, students will bring their own lunch.

• Forms not working on mobile?
They work best on desktop. DM us and we’ll send a direct link if you have trouble.

• Will families get to meet staff and ask questions/ provide input?
Yes! A Meet the Teacher/ PTA-style meeting is planned soon. Enrolled families will receive a Parent Vision & Interest Form so we can shape the school together.

• What curriculum will you use?
We won’t purchase a boxed curriculum. Our experienced teacher will teach according to Arkansas standards, meeting students where they are.

• Where will the school be located?
Location is still TBD, and we are actively praying and working through options.

• What will the schedule look like?
We plan an August- June year-round model with 139 instructional days. Monday through Thursday, 8:00-2:00, with optional after-school care until 5:30. A draft calendar is coming soon.

• What is tuition?
Tuition is $10,000 per year, with $7,208 covered through the Arkansas EFA scholarship for eligible families. Application details coming soon.
