Congratulations to Faulkner graduate Dana Barber for being recognized among the 2026 class of Women Who Shape the State! 👏

Barber, the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services State Coordinator for Blind Services, was honored earlier this month during a luncheon at The Club in Birmingham.

A 2006 graduate of Faulkner University with a bachelor’s degree in management of human resources, Barber has built a career marked by leadership, service and a strong work ethic. We are proud to celebrate her accomplishments and the impact she continues to make across Alabama!

Faulkner University News – Faulkner University, Alfa Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Expand Education Opportunities 04/23/2026

Faulkner University and Alfa Insurance signed a Memorandum of Understanding this week to expand educational opportunities for Alfa employees, agents and their families.

The agreement, formalizes and strengthens an existing partnership between Faulkner University and Alfa, providing them and Alabama Farmers Federation employees, as well as their adult children and stepchildren, a 50 percent tuition discount on eligible programs. In addition, children and stepchildren of employees are guaranteed a minimum $10,000 scholarship toward a traditional, on-campus undergraduate degree at Faulkner’s Montgomery campus.

We’re so proud of Harris College of Business student Campbell Hecklinski for winning this year's Mark Churchwell Business Pitch Competition presented by Site Pros LLC! 🏆💼

Campbell competed against 5 other talented students and took the top spot in today’s event with her innovative idea, Wilo Pro Collars Co., which pitched a smarter safety collar for pets.

The event, inspired by Shark Tank, gave students the chance to present their business models to a panel of community “sharks” after a semester of hard work and creativity.
They all did amazing!! 👏🔥

Industry Spotlight Brings Students and Experts Together to Explore Careers in Risk Management!

Faulkner University's Harris College of Business and Stumbaugh School of Risk Management and Insurance hosted an industry spotlight on April 21 that brought together students, faculty, and industry leaders for a dynamic panel discussion focused on the world of Risk Management and Insurance.

Before the program, panelists enjoyed networking and dinner with Faulkner President Mitch Henry.

The panel discussion, moderated by Patsy Hughes, Director of Risk Management and Insurance, included representatives from seven insurance agencies, along with Mark Fowler, Commissioner of Insurance for the State of Alabama.

The event highlighted how degrees in finance, accounting, insurance, and related fields can lead to meaningful, in-demand careers.

With approximately 70 students in attendance, the evening offered valuable insight, real-world perspective, and encouraging connections for the next generation of business leaders.

We were excited to host high school students for our Eyes Up! Looking Forward to Safe Driving and College event!

Students participated in a free, interactive experience that raised awareness about distracted driving and introduced them to opportunities within the College of Business.

From exploring majors like Risk Management & Insurance to experiencing a VR driving simulation and touring campus, it was a day full of learning and discovery.
