HBCU Legal Focus Group

What a GREAT opportunity! Today, I was blessed with the opportunity to canvass and volunteer with the honorable Rep. Terri Sewell, who serves as a senior Congress member and proudly represents Alabama's 7th district. She exemplifies what people who look like me can achieve when Jesus Christ is working in our lives. Just another example of Proverbs 18:16 KJV: A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.

Over the past week, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Annual Leadership Institute Conference hosted by the Thurgood Marshall College Fund.

This conference was packed with valuable sessions designed to help us scholars strengthen our leadership skills and prepare for the future. Of all the events during the five-day experience, the recruitment fair and exposition stood out as my favorite. It provided a fantastic opportunity for scholars to connect with nearly 90 companies, engage with recruiters, and discuss job and internship opportunities.

I'm proud to share that I was among the 3,000 students who applied to this opportunity, one of the 500 selected to attend this prestigious event, and one of the seven dedicated scholars representing THEE Prestigious Alabama State University.

A huge thank you to the TMCF team for making this conference possible and to the fantastic recruiters from the Central Intelligence Agency and Toyota Motor Corporation. Lastly, I want to thank TMCF Founder Dr. N Jorce Payne for your hard work and determination to help students like myself.
