Aldersgate Weekday Children's Ministry

I was getting worried when boxes of our new furniture starting disappearing this morning. Turns out some wonderful Aldersgate UMC members and staff were putting things together for us! Thank you all so much! ❤️

Thank you, Bill Haigler, Pat Haigler, Pete Moore, and Jimbo Barrett for using your time and talents to serve the WCM by assembling our new playground equipment! I know it was a hard project but you all pushed through the frustration and the rain to help our toddlers. We appreciate the love and support shown to us by Aldersgate UMC members and staff! ❤️

We are so proud of all of our K4 graduates! You all have learned and grown so much! I know you all will do great in kindergarten! We are also proud of our wonderful K4 teachers, Ms. Teresa and Ms. Wanda! Every K4 student who tested for magnet and/or private schools was accepted! Our graduates are where they are because of you!

Other than an intense battle with the evil Sith Lord, Darth Vader, it has been a fun and peaceful day on planet WCM. May the 4th be you!

K4 has a blast yesterday at Lanark, part of the Alabama Wildlife Federation! They learn all about bugs and even got to catch and hold a few! They also had fun with a few turtles and a baby alligator!

K3's and K4's flowers are doing good on the outdoor classroom! We also got several more projects finished out there today! It will be finished once we get sand in the raised bed, the sand and water table filled, our water collection system set up, and the kiddos plant a few more things!

We have some exciting news! Today K3 and K4 had their first lesson on our new outdoor classroom! They learned about flowers and planted seeds! We are so excited to be able to add this wonderful learning area to the center! We still have more work to do on it but we are off to a great start. Ms. Teresa, thank you for your vision and assistance with creating the outdoor classroom! Ms. Teresa and Ms. Paxton, thank you for planning and executing the first lesson on the outdoor classroom! 🌻

The WCM had a wonderful time celebrating Easter! Happy Easter!

We would like to give the Aldersgate UMC quilters a huge thank you! They made us two beautiful quilts for the babies to use during tummy time! Thank you, ladies, for using your time and talents to help the WCM!

In light of Autism Awareness Day yesterday, I would like to honor our little friends here at the WCM who have autism, as well as Ms. Alexis, who is also on the spectrum. Each of you are so loved for being the wonderful people you are! Thank you for bringing so much joy to our lives. I would also like to thank you, Ms. Alexis, for all you do to advocate for people on the spectrum. Neurodiversity is beautiful and we celebrate it here at the WCM! We love you all!

Today is World Autism Awareness Day. I think it’s so important to take this time highlight, appreciate, and celebrate the joy of living in a neurodiverse world.I’m so thankful for opportunities and people who let me exist fully in who I am and how I see the world. Everyone deserves that chance, without the worry of someone trying to cure what is really their superpower.
