Small Wonders

Classes are relaxed, curiosity-driven, and modeled after how real field scientists study the natural world through observation, discussion, and hands-on discovery. Classes will begin the week of September 15th and run through January. Each class meets for 12 wks., skipping the holiday weeks for travel and family time. Each class will require a minimum of 6 students registered before the class is confirmed. Please feel free to share the information and invite other students to take the classes together. All of my classes are drop-off style. I have over 30 years of experience working with children of all ages. I have background clearance and have worked for public and private schools. I have taught at local co-ops, and I am a mother of 5 with special needs children. My classes offer a unique opportunity for students. All classes are introvert friendly. I will not force a student to read aloud or call on them during class. Participation is at their level of comfort. I have found that even the most introverted, shy students will flourish in this environment and will choose to participate on their own without requirements. Friendships are made and students look forward to class. I take great pride in this. I do not focus on grammatical correction and do not assign busy work. My classes are structured in a way that encourages a love of learning, trusting your instincts, asking questions and thinking for yourself. We incorporate the habits of a field scientist using observation and recall. Students are given artwork to complete during lectures to help with memory and focus. All class prices include all materials needed for the class unless a specific book is specified. Homework is available but not required. Grades are based on knowledge and engagement. I also offer discounts for siblings. The following classes will be open for registration next week, but they must reach the required number of students in order for the class to remain on the schedule:
