Just a reminder that the Musical Instrument Library is no longer hosting Wednesday Open Mic Night. Please read below for details.
See you soon!
To our community:
The mission of the Musical Instrument Library has always been and will continue to be a safe and encouraging place to borrow musical instruments, experiment, play, connect and learn. We foster a heart-led environment of creativity, collaboration, and community.
These are the values that myself and my team operate from.
With those values in mind, we must share that the Musical Instrument Library is moving. This also means, unfortunately, that the Wednesday Musical Instrument Library Open Mic Nights are cancelled at the Monte Rio Theater indefinitely.
The environment at the Monte Rio Theater & Extravaganza has become unsafe for the community, for my team, and for myself, and it is clear that the owners of the theater have no intention of resolving these issues.
In addition to other issues of security, myself and members of my team have been repeatedly threatened with violence by a member of Monte Rio Theater staff. When these incidents have been reported to the owners along with screenshots of threats and other evidence, they have not been acknowledged with the appropriate action to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
After nearly six months of trying to resolve these issues, it is clear that the Monte Rio Theater and Extravanganza and its owners do not value the safety of the community, their neighbors or their tenants.
Because of these ongoing issues of safety and security, it has become necessary for us to pull out of the venue effective immediately. As you are receiving this news, the doors to the Musical Instrument Library are already closed at the Monte Rio location. Please stay tuned for information about our new location and activities.
If you have an instrument out, please continue to enjoy it. When you are ready to return it, give me a call or text directly, and we will coordinate a pickup or drop off.
If you are hoping to borrow an instrument, we are still here for you. Please call or text me for details about what you are looking for and to arrange a pickup or drop off.
My number can be found on the contact page of our website: www.musicalinstrumentlibrary.com
Keep an eye on our social media and the calendar on our website for upcoming events and news about our future.
This is not the end of the library. It is a stepping stone to better things and places where we can serve you, our beautiful community, the way you deserve: In safety. We will continue to create a heart-led environment that fosters creativity, play, experimentation, and - above all - community.
We are so grateful to have had this opportunity to build this musical haven for you here in Monte Rio, and we thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for all of your support.
We can’t wait to share our very bright future with you soon.
Much Love,
Jason Cool and the Musical Instrument Library Team
