This will be 🇮🇱 8th appearance at a Winter Olympics. Our first was back in 1994 when the team consisted of just one person ⛸Michael Shmerkin⛸ Michael was back four years later along with Galit Chait & Sergei Sakhnovski whom he inspired to be a part of the team and so the tradition of the present inspiring the future to follow in their footsteps was born. It was our pleasure to speak to Michael, a true legend in Israel's Olympic and sporting history. "I'm so proud that the streak of sending a team continues. Not just in figure skating, but in skiing and speed skating as well. ברכות לצמד המחליקים יבגני קרסנופולסקי(33) והיילי קופס (19) שהשיגו הלילה בתחרות ההזדמנות האחרונה בגרמניה את הקריטריון בזוגות ספורט, למשחקי החורף האולימפיים שיהיו בפברואר 2022 בבייג'ינג.
יבגני והיילי השיגו 167.08 נקודות.
כדי להשיג את הקריטריון הם היו צריכים לסיים במקום הרביעי מבין הזוגות שהשתתפו בתחרות ולא השיגו את הקריטריון.
השניים עמדו במשימה.
עבור יבגני תהא זו הופעה שלישית במשחקי החורף האולימפיים.
עבור היילי הצעירה תהא זו הופעה אולימפית ראשונה.
ב-2019 השתתפה היילי באליפות העולם לנוער כשהופיעה עם ארטיום צולגין. השניים סיימו במקום השביעי.
אחרי תחרות זו היא לקחה פסק זמן ארוך מהחלקה, הגיעה לישראל ולמדה באולפנא.
לפני כחודשיים שבה לניו ג'רזי, חזרה לפעילות בהחלקה ויחד עם יבגני, אחרי עבודה אינטנסיבית עם המאמנת גלית חייט, הצליחו השניים להשיג את הקריטריון.
לישראל יהיה בבייג'ינג גם נציג בהחלקה אמנותית לגברים, אחרי שאלכסיי ביצ'נקו הוותיק השיג במרץ האחרון באליפות העולם בשבדיה, את הכרטיס עבור מדינת ישראל.
