🎶 NEW RESOURCE: The Musician Legacy Project 🎶
What happens when a musician’s life ends, but their music keeps traveling?
The Musician Legacy Project: Exploring Music, Memory & Influence is a flexible research and listening project for grades 8–12 that takes students beyond the traditional musician biography. Students choose a musician whose music has crossed their path, then research, listen, watch, explore, and follow the musical connections to discover the legacy that musician left behind.
Students explore the person behind the music, experience multiple works, investigate historical and cultural context, trace musical influences, evaluate sources, and ultimately answer one big question: Why should we remember this musician?
The project culminates in a personalized Musician Legacy Card and student-choice presentation, with editable Canva templates included. Bring the completed cards together to create The Musicians We Remember: A Collective Musical Memorial.
Designed for Music, ELA, Social Studies, Humanities, and homeschool classrooms, the packet is flexible enough to use as a shorter project or a deeper multi-week investigation.
✨ The goal is not to summarize a life. It is to discover a legacy.
🎧 Research broadly. Listen closely. Tell selectively.
