Project Dance Collective Pittsburgh While discipline is always a major aspect of any successful dance program, we also believe that dancing should be FUN. This was an exciting time for Mrs.

Located on the boarders of Plum, Monroeville & Murrysville, Pennsylvania, DEBR offers students of all ages the opportunity to express themselves through the art of dance. A variety of classes are offered for students through both recreational and intensive courses ensuring a program that will suit your interests

DEBR prides itself in offering professional level training in a relaxed and friendly environment. Students learn better and accomplish more in non-threatening surroundings. Our goal for each child is to promote a love, the joy and respect for the art of dance

DEBBIE ROGERS - School Director / Dance Company Founder - Director

Dance Company & Recreational Division

Mrs. Rogers has been teaching dance since the young age of 15 when she was asked to take on her first local choreography job for the Broadway hit musical "Cabaret." From there her interest and involvement grew with local theater as she danced in and choreographed many shows throughout the area such as "Guys & Doll's,", "The King and I,", "The Pajama Game,", "South Pacific," Damn Yankees," and "Gypsy" just to name a few. Her training began with a local studio with Tom O'Steen. As her love of dance grew she spent every day and every weekend training. She was the first student in the Penn Hills School District at the time to receive special permission for early release to attend Point Park's Dance Program where she spent 4 years, 5-6 days a week in the pre-professional program earning college credit. Rogers as well as for Pittsburgh as the newly formed Pittsburgh Ballet Theater was just created under the direction of Nicolas Petrov in which Mrs. Rogers was honored to be a part of. In addition to a busy dance schedule, Mrs. Rogers managed to fit in Musical Theater classes, acting classes, voice lessons and still perform in events in Western PA. Her summers were spent living and training in New York City under the direction of some of the worlds notable dance / theater all time greats! After attending Point Park University majoring in dance, her love of teaching was greater than her need to perform, thus Rogers School of Dance opened. JULIA COXON - Dance Company & Recreational Division Instructor, Dance Company Chief Choreographer & Dance Company Assistant Director

Julia began her dance training at the age of 3 with Rogers School of Dance. She also trained with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater School where she danced in the "Nutcracker" in various student rules at the Benedum Center for the Arts with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater company members. Starting at the age of 12 she spent her summers training at summer intensives in Ohio, New York, and PA. At the age of 16 she auditioned for her first professional job. At the age of 16 she packed her bags in her little blue car and was off to perform as a dancer / singer in "American Jukebox" on a 6 month contract with Busch Gardens, VA. After her return from VA, and a year of nursing an injury Julia auditioned with over 1,000 other hopefuls in New York City in hopes of being represented by the BLOC Dance Agency in New York City. 3 months later, Julia packed her bags, hoped on a train and moved to New York City where she was signed with the BLOC Dance Agency. From there her career in the commercial dance arena took off. She appeared in many industrials in New York, music video's, TV, instructional video's with Broadway Dance Center, assistant to the dancers for the Macy's Day Parade, assistant at dance workshops to Frank Hatchett jazz icon from Broadway Dance Center and Starpower, Debbie Wilson of Broadway Dance Center choreographer's demo, and much more. While on national tour with the TJ Max World Gymnastics Tour as a hip hop dancer an injury side lined her for quite some time. In addition, Julia has performed with P. Diddy, Lil Kim, and was on tour with Nick Cannon. Julia appeared in the movie "Adventureland" as a dancer in the club scenes with the movies leads. Julia continues her training often at Broadway Dance Center & Steps On Broadway in NYC.

There is nothing more beautiful than the absolute freedom of dance. It’s pure, it’s healing, and it reminds us to live entirely in the moment. This is what makes us HAPPY! 💙🖤🩷

💞 Throwback Thursday 💞

Looking at these old photos reminds us of the greatest privilege we have & that is watching our dancers grow up! 🥹

Beyond the privates, the choreography, the classes and the competition stage lights, our favorite part of this journey is seeing the incredible individuals our students become. 🥰

We don’t just watch them grow as dancers. We watch them grow up into the beautiful young humans they are becoming.

Great dancers aren’t born on the stage; they are built in the studio. 💫

Behind every effortless performance is a mountain of effort. It’s the hours spent sweating through technical drills, repeating the same elements until your muscles remember it better than your mind, and pushing past the moments you want to give up.
The stage gets the applause, but the studio gets the work! It’s where you fall down, get back up, correct your alignment, and try one more time. Growth doesn't happen over night it happens when you show up, put the work in, and refuse to give up on your potential!
Every drop of sweat, every correction, and every extra repetition is an investment in your artistry. 💫 Keep grinding, keep growing, and remember why you started.
See you on the dance floor! ✨
