We are beyond thrilled to announce that Jefferson alumna and basketball legend Marlene Barton is returning to lead our Varsity Girls Basketball program as Head Coach! 💙🐻

Before stepping up to guide our student-athletes, Marlene cemented her place as one of the most explosive talents in program history. Her high school resume is nothing short of incredible:
✨ 2-Time All-State Selection
🎯 1,401 Career Points (Top 6 in region history upon graduation)
🏹 173 Career 3-Pointers
🔥 71 Three-Pointers in a Single Season (Region record set during her junior year)
💥 Single-Game Records: A career-high 38 points and an unstoppable 8 three-pointers in a single game
📊 Senior Season Dominance: Averaged 20.0 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 4.0 steals per game

Marlene knows firsthand what it takes to put in the early morning work, wear the Jefferson jersey with pride, and compete at the highest level. Her passion for the game, commitment to personal growth, and deep roots in our community make her the exact leader our young women need.

Every child should go back to school feeling fresh, and that’s why I’m doing a “pay what you can” haircut event- all day on Monday, August 24th. You come, I cut, and you pay what you can, whatever that means to you- I’m okay with! All you can afford is a homemade card and a hug? Great. I’m all in.

Seniors!! Time to get creative!! You will need to submit your sketch to one of your class advisors. This can be done the day you come to paint. You must bring your own supplies, so get with friends and share paint! 😄 Because spots were painted last year, you will need to paint over the spot first on Friday, August 21st between 9 and 2. Black paint will be provided. 😄😄
