MCISD at the River Raisin National Battlefield Park

It was an increidble honor today to give a tour and teach some students from Hofu, Japan. They are a part of the Sister City exchange program with the City of Monroe called Monroe Internatinal Friendship Association (MIFA). Great students and they got to learn about Frenchtown History, War of 1812, our River Raisin Battles, and got to do some Archery. Just another one of ths cool things about this job is meeting people from all over the world.

Had a good time with one of the ISD's play groups last week. We look forward to havng them back. We enjoyed having them.

We had a great mini archery camp yesteruday with the ESS crew from Aiport and Monroe. Students did great, they got a small tour but were able to spend a few hours shooting. They seemed to really enjoy it. We can't wait to have them back.

We have had a busy summer and just had a great field trip planned for Monroe County Community College Upward Bound program. We hope they enjoyed their tour and that they keep coming back every summer. Enjoy some pictures from their trip.

Another great week at MCISD Archery Camp. Our group was small but mighty this week. Always great to coach intersted and coachable students learning a new hobby/sport. All of our campers where great this year. Here are some pictures of this weeks campers, both the younger and the older group.

We had a great week with our Advanced Archery Camp, two return campers from last year. We learned a lot of new techniques and was able to get better all throughout the week. We got to go outside and even get a little 3D deer target practice. Great group of kids, I had a bunch of fun with this group.

Our last day competition was a close one with this group.

Harper - 1st place 183 points
Nick - 2nd place 179 points
Stella - 3rd place 161 points

Looking forward to seeing them all again next year.

We had a great week at the MCISD Archery Camp with our campers. Out of all my camps this one has been above and beyond some of the fastest learners. Some real good shots in this class. Here are some of our good pictures from the week. Hope to see you again next year.
