Beekman Charter School Pre-K Program serves children 4 years old that meet eligibility requirements and is a High Proficient rated program. The teachers implement a Tier I LDOE approved curriculum The Creative Curriculum that integrates learning into every part of the day, for every child, in every area of learning with hands-on studies that are relevant to children’s daily lives to support children’s language and literacy learning, and social-emotional development.

Morehouse Parish Schools Pre-K program is a High Proficient rated program that serves 4-year-old children who meet eligibility requirements. Elementary Curriiculum Supervisor, Katie Henderson (pictured) supports the Pre-K teachers as they use the Tier I Louisiana Department of Education approved curriculum OWL. OWL uses research on early language, literacy, social and emotional development to build on those critical skills in a developmentally supportive way.

YAY for Pre-K! Enrollment for the 2024 - 2025 school year has begun and the Children’s Coalition for Northeast Louisiana highly encourages parents and guardians to look into all of the benefits of early childhood education.
You can enroll your child for Pre-K by filling out the application for your parish (childrenscoalition.org/ready-start) and bringing all required documents to the corresponding Early Childhood & Pre-K site.

The being conducted by Louisiana Department of Education, Louisiana Policy Institute for Children and Agenda for Children will open on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.
The survey takes only a few minutes to fill out and will be available in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. This survey will create a better understanding of the child care needs of families with children under the age of 5 and will allow these groups to advocate for policies that best address parent needs.
