We successfully wrapped up an amazing Week of the Young Child!!
I want to take a moment to sincerely thank our staff for their dedication, creativity, and passion each and every day.
This special week, led annually each April by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), is a wonderful reminder of how important early learning is and how much impact our educators have on the lives of young children and their families.
Our team helped to make this week meaningful, fun, and full of memorable experiences for the children. Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and I am so grateful for the love and energy you all bring to our center!
A special thank you as well to all of our wonderful parents and families who joined us for Family Craft Night!
Your support, participation, and partnership help make our school community strong. We are so fortunate to have such an amazing village supporting our children’s growth and learning every day!

Our 2026 Professional Development Day was a tremendous success! It was incredible to gather so many passionate early childhood educators in one space. Our meeting was filled with meaningful conversations, strong and relevant topics, and thoughtful shared ideas. The level of engagement and professionalism throughout the event truly reflected the heart of our team!
Thank you to all who participated and contributed! When we come together with a shared vision, we continue building a stronger, more intentional learning environment for every child in our care!

Join us for our upcoming Building Blocks Open House, a special chance to explore our schools, meet our dedicated staff, learn more about our programs, and connect with other families who are part of our community.

This week was Building Block’s annual Child Conference! While we focused on professional development, we also got ready for the start of our school year, prepping our classrooms and getting ready to welcome new and familiar faces!
Yesterday, our team took some time to gather together and to pause and reflect at Wolfe Park in Monroe. We collected natural materials to decorate our classrooms and to use in our nature centers! We also decorated rocks with pictures and words of affirmation and left them around the park. A little reminder to

Last week was filled with hands-on interactions with all kinds of "creatures"!
Our chickens went from little baby chicks to BIG baby chicks in no-time! How cool it was to watch them hatch from their eggs and to grow! All of our classrooms got to see the chicks up close and got to feel their soft feathers and wings! Even though our chick friends left last week to go off to the farm, we sure did enjoy their company while they were here!
We also enjoyed special visitors last week! Riverside Reptiles came to Building Blocks Monroe with all kinds of animals for us to learn about and even touch! We met Wiggles the salamander, Cheese the leopard gecko, Mushu the bearded dragon, Thorn the caiman alligator, and Jasmine the Burmese python! We learned what they eat, where they live, how big they can grow, and some interesting facts - like the bearded dragon’s beard turns black when he gets mad! It was super cool!
Last, but not least, we ALSO got to examine worms!! Everyone had a great time watching the worms wiggle, and some children were even brave enough to touch them!
It was a very exciting and action-packed week here at Building Blocks!

A warm welcome to our chick friends who hatched overnight!!
Be sure to stop by and see them on your way in or out!
We cannot move the chicks to their pen/cage until the first chick that has hatched has been completely out of its shell for 24 hours, and all chicks are hatched and dry.
After that, our chicks will move into their new temporary home that we will set up for them!
The chicks will stay with us for about two weeks, and then off to the farm they go to live their best chicken lives!
