Valentine’s day is approaching. Some of the players recently asked the question: In tennis why do you say love instead of zero?

The origins of 'love' as a score lie in the figure zero's resemblance to an egg. In sport, it's common to refer to a nil or nought score as a duck or goose egg, and the French word for egg is l'oeuf - the pronunciation of which isn't too far removed from the English 'love'.

Hello everyone! My name is Jonah Jones. I’m 22 and in my senior year at LA Tech, where I am studying Political Science Pre-Law. I was born and raised in Bossier City, Louisiana, with an extensive background at Bossier Tennis Center. There, I have nearly 6 years of experience in the tennis industry. Across that time, I’ve have the pleasure of working with a wide range of players, across different ages and skill levels.

I’m very grateful and excited for the opportunity to be here at Bayou DeSiard, and look forward to meeting you all!

Hosted our first USTA level 6 tournament and we had a blast. It was great seeing players from all over the state and even some visiting from far away.

Learning can be both fun and challenging. Using tools can be very helpful in teaching proper technique, spacing, and more.
