🚨 UPDATE: ALEX UTHOFF CAPTURED IN MEXICO
After more than a year on the run, Alex Roy Uthoff, 41, has been captured in Mexico and returned to the United States.
Uthoff was wanted in connection with the 2025 Davenport motorcycle crash that killed 31-year-old Samantha Burke of Bettendorf.
Authorities say Uthoff left the United States before he could be arrested. Investigators eventually developed information suggesting he was staying in Isla Mujeres, Mexico.
On August 26, Mexican authorities located and apprehended Uthoff. Just one day later, he was deported back to the United States and turned over to the U.S. Marshals Service in Chicago.
Uthoff will remain in custody while awaiting extradition back to Scott County, Iowa, where he faces multiple charges connected to the fatal crash.
The Davenport Police Department credited the U.S. Marshals Service for assisting in locating Uthoff and coordinating his return to the United States.
For Samantha Burke’s family and loved ones, this is a major development after more than a year of waiting for Uthoff to be brought back to face the charges against him.
⚖️ Uthoff is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
