I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported me and voted for change in this election. I began this journey driven by the decisions being made that directly affect our students and fellow community members. Along with two other dedicated candidates, katie Carley & Jen Francis, I sought to be part of the change, progress, and growth that our district truly deserves.
We have so many wonderful aspects within our district, yet there is always room for improvement as we plan for the future. I aimed for this opportunity with great hopes of being elected to help lead those efforts. Throughout this campaign, from meet-and-greets to community events and public forums, I had the privilege of connecting with many of you, and for that, I am incredibly grateful.
I acknowledge that I did not have the backing of the teacher's union and faced the challenge of campaigning without significant support. I stood as the face and voice of my beliefs in honesty and transparency. My expectations may have been high, but I was ready and willing to work tirelessly to achieve them. With the knowledge, leadership, and expertise of the other two candidates, I truly believe we could have accomplished great things together.
While I may not have won this election, I want to assure you all that I will not sit back and ignore the decisions being made. I remain a committed parent in this district and a fellow community member dedicated to ensuring that we strive for better.
Congratulations to the candidates who won. I sincerely hope you will carry forward the message of the teacher's union and work tirelessly for our students and community.
Thank you once again for your support and for believing in the vision of progress.

⭐️⭐️Please let me know if you would like a sign for your lawn.
I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself, provide some background information, as well as my general platform goals. My name is Lauren Doman. I am a mother of two current District 159 students. I have been a teacher for 17 years, and currently work in a neighboring community.
With 17 years of diverse experience in education, I am uniquely positioned to serve on the school board and advocate for our students, teachers, and community. My extensive background spans teaching primary, intermediate, and middle school students across various roles, including General Education, Special Education, Interventions, and Honors programs. This breadth of experience has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of the educational landscape and the unique needs of our diverse student population. I have witnessed firsthand the challenges and triumphs that students, parents, and educators face every day, and I am committed to addressing these issues effectively.
I understand that fiscal responsibility is a cornerstone of effective governance in our education system. Earning a second master's degree in administration, with a focus on district finance and logistics, has underscored the critical role that sound financial management plays in making informed decisions that directly impact our students and schools.
Fiscal responsibility involves not only managing budgets wisely but also ensuring that every dollar is spent effectively to enhance educational outcomes. I am committed to prioritizing transparency and accountability in our financial practices to maximize resources for our students and staff.
Moreover, I firmly believe that a school board should consist of a diverse group of members who bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise from various backgrounds. This diversity is essential for effectively supporting our district and ensuring that all voices and perspectives are represented in the decision-making process. A diverse board can provide broader perspectives, enhance decision-making, and ensure equitable representation for our community, ultimately leading to a stronger and more inclusive educational environment.
Together, we can create a school system that not only meets the needs of our students but also reflects the values and aspirations of our entire community.
**While I may not have been selected by the union, my motivation for running for the school board remains steadfast and clear. My sole purpose in this endeavor is to be an integral part of the decision-making process that drives improvement in Mokena, helping our schools and community reach their fullest potential.
I want to emphasize that my candidacy is not driven by personal gains or a hidden agenda. My focus is solely on the betterment of our educational system and the overall well-being of our students, teachers, and families!
