John L. LeFlore Magnet High School

Congratulations to LeFlore Magnet High School, was was recently recognized by Alabama Possible for tying for the highest participation in the state among medium-sized high schools in the Alabama Direct Admission Initiative. LeFlore's Class of 2026 earned 2,039 scholarship offers worth $53.4 million, part of a record $1.2 billion earned overall by the MCPSS Class of 2026.

On June 3, Alabama Possible and our partners celebrated the successes of the 2025–26 academic year during our virtual Alabama Goes to College Celebration Day. With 81 attendees, the event opened with remarks from Jamie Kanki, Managing Director, Match, followed by student stories from the Class of 2026, reflecting on their journeys and future goals.

Eight schools were honored for having the highest Direct Admission participation rates. Within the Cash for College initiative, MVP Awards recognized the five schools with the highest FAFSA completion rates, and Most Improved Awards went to the five schools showing the greatest year-over-year growth in FAFSA completion.

We were awarded the MVP Award from Alabama Possible for having highest post secondary Direct Admission participation rate for medium size schools in the state of Alabama!

🎉🎉🎉CONGRATULATIONS Dr. West of West Instructional Services being named The Best of Alabama 2026 for Tutoring Centers!

We truly thank her for all the hard work that she has done with our students! With that being said, Dr. West will be at LeFlore this week for an ACT Bootcamp for all LeFlore students registered to take the ACT June administration.

Congratulations to the Rattler JROTC Cadets, Chief Richardson and Ms. Jones on completing the 11th Annual MCPSS JROTC STEM camp!
