Fun evening subbing for the St. Charles County Symphony Orchestra this past week!

Sometimes warming up isn’t the most fun thing to do, but it’s super important. 🙂 I often compare it to the “vegetables” of clarinet… you know that it is good for you, but sitting down and actually doing it is a whole different story. 🙃 A good warmup usually consists of some kind of combination of long tones, scales, arpeggios, thirds, and articulation. It’s always best to start slow and gradually increase your metronome bpm as you progress. And also, give yourself some grace. 🙂 Want to chat more about clarinet warm-ups?
