Last week, alumni from AUC and Ross University School of Medicine (RUSM) attended an alumni mixer in Kansas City, held alongside the AAFP Future of Family Medicine Conference. Alumni gathered at P.S. Speakeasy inside the historic Hotel Phillips for an evening of networking, shared experiences, and career connections as attendees look ahead to residency and beyond.

We were honored to be joined by AUC Alumni Board Member LaDona Schmidt, MD '90, and representatives from the Ontario Physician Recruitment Forum, who spoke with Canadian alumni about pathways to return home and practice, reflecting our commitment to Canadian physician opportunities.

The AAFP Future Conference remains one of our best chances to bring the AUC and RUSM communities together — and this year's mixer proved just how valuable that is. 🩺✨

Congratulations to AnaMaria Koehl, MD '12, Pediatric Critical Care physician at Nationwide Children's – Toledo, on presenting at the 2026 International Pediatric Simulation Society Workshop's annual conference in Rome, Italy!

Her project, "Enhancing Pediatric Resuscitation Amongst Residents Through Simulation and Individualized Debriefing," explored how tailored simulation training can improve resident response to pediatric emergencies.

We're so proud of Dr. Koehl's work—locally and globally—advancing clinical training and the safest care for pediatric patients and families. 👏

Sandip Saha, MD '10, returned to AUC as the keynote speaker for our recent White Coat Ceremony at the UK-Track campus, 🥼 where he reminded the incoming class that the best physicians never stop learning, including from the patients they serve.

🎙️ Dr. Saha serves as Chief of Interventional Pulmonology and Co-Director of Thoracic Oncology at the University at Buffalo's Jacobs School of Medicine.
