One of my favorite homeschool money-saving swaps? 💻📚 Going digital whenever it makes sense!

Digital curriculum can mean:
✨ Less money spent on printing
✨ No huge stacks of paper taking over your homeschool space
✨ Easy access whenever you need it
✨ Less waste
✨ And potentially a curriculum you can use with multiple kids

If you’re already spending a small fortune on curriculum each year, going digital can be a simple way to stretch your homeschool budget a little further.

Just remember to check the license before you buy.*

What’s your preference—digital, printed, or a mix of both?

*Always check the specific licensing terms for the curriculum you’re purchasing.

💛 If you didn't receive the PEP Scholarship, this is for you.

I've been thinking about all the Florida families who found out they weren't awarded a PEP Scholarship this year. If that's you, I know you're probably feeling disappointed, overwhelmed, or wondering what your next step should be.

If homeschooling is still on your heart, please don't assume it's out of reach.
One of the first places I'd recommend is Teachers Pay Teachers. Most people don't realize you can filter your searches to FREE and find thousands of printable resources created by experienced educators. It's a great way to supplement learning without spending a fortune.

This is the first post in a series I'll be sharing over the next week with my favorite free and budget-friendly homeschool resources. My goal is to help make this season feel a little less overwhelming and remind you that meaningful learning doesn't have to come with a huge price tag.

💛 I'd love to know: What grade(s) are you homeschooling this year, and what's your biggest concern right now?

I'll use your answers to create videos that are actually helpful for your family.
If you know another Florida family who didn't receive the PEP Scholarship, please share this post with them.

Sometimes knowing where to start can make all the difference.

💛 If you just found out you didn't receive the PEP Scholarship, this post is for you.

I know many Florida families were counting on that funding, and I can only imagine how overwhelming today feels. When you've spent months planning for the school year, unexpected changes can leave you wondering what comes next.

If homeschooling is still on your heart, I want to encourage you not to give up.
A meaningful homeschool education doesn't have to come from the most expensive curriculum. Some of our best learning has happened through library books, hands-on projects, games, cooking, nature walks, and simple supplies we already had at home.

Over the next week, I'm going to share the free and budget-friendly resources I would recommend to any family trying to homeschool without the PEP Scholarship. My hope is that these ideas help you feel a little less overwhelmed and a little more confident.

💛 I'd love to know...what grade are you homeschooling this year? Let me know in the comments so I can create content that's actually helpful for your family.

You are not alone, and this community is cheering you on.

I used to think learning had to happen at a table with a workbook.

Now some of our best lessons happen in the kitchen.

Measuring ingredients turns into fractions. Reading recipes becomes reading practice. Following directions builds executive functioning. And somewhere in the middle of baking muffins, my kids are learning confidence, patience, and independence.

That's one of the things I love most about homeschooling...learning doesn't have to fit inside four walls or one textbook.

❤️ I'd love to know...
What's one everyday activity that unexpectedly became a learning opportunity in your home?

📚 Homeschool Hot Take:

The library might be the most valuable curriculum we own.

It costs nothing, yet it gives our kids unlimited opportunities to explore new interests, discover new authors, and ask bigger questions.

Some weeks we check out books about sharks. Other weeks it's castles, space, baking, or bugs.

The curriculum changes... The love of learning stays the same. 💛

If your child could check out unlimited books on ONE topic this month, what would they choose?

How are we preventing summer slide??

☀️ Preventing the Summer Slide: Part 1 ☀️

One of the easiest ways to keep kids learning all summer? Give them a project they're genuinely excited about!

It doesn't have to be expensive or complicated:
🎨 Art supplies you already have
📦 A giant cardboard box turned into anything they can imagine
🔨 Building challenges with household items
✏️ Craft kits, STEM projects, or creative tools like this 3D pen

When kids are creating, designing, problem-solving, and experimenting, they're building critical thinking skills without feeling like they're doing schoolwork.

The goal isn't worksheets all summer—it's keeping curious minds engaged. 💡

What's a project your child could spend hours working on this summer?

Homeschooling doesn’t have to mean doing everything on your own. 🤍

It’s okay to ask for help. It’s okay to outsource. It’s okay to buy resources that make your life easier. It’s okay to lean on a community.

You are still an incredible homeschool parent—even when you don’t do it all.

In fact, giving your child access to more support, more perspectives, and more opportunities? That’s not “less than”…that’s intentional.

Everything is going to be okay. You don’t have to carry it all alone. ✨
