All,

It pains me to write this message to inform everyone on the passing of our longtime chef, Aloma Gibson. Gib was so much more than our chef to everyone that knew him. He was the funniest, loudest, most unique man anyone has ever met, and more importantly, he was our brother, our father, and our best friend. Aloma could instantly make everyone's day better with a clever joke and always had a piece of advice for everyone who walked through his kitchen.

We are looking to fund his funeral expenses and to establish a permanent endowment to help send the undergraduate SigEp's on leadership continuums, in his name.

With that being said, I wanted to share the Go-Fund-Me link with all of you to help give back to the man who gave everything he had to SigEp.

Rest easy, brother Gibson.

Sigma Phi Epsilon has had a very busy beginning of 2018!

A few weeks ago, members joined together for our Annual SigEp Chapter Retreat. This was a great bonding experience between our undergraduates and Alumni Volunteer Committee where we shared our memories and created chapter wide goals to continue our success of building balanced men throughout the four years.

This past Saturday, several of our members paired up with Alpha Phi ladies to participate in the Cystic Fibrosis Climb up the IDS Tower's 50 floors! It was a great cause and a great atmosphere that was also celebrated with the warm weather!

The gentlemen of SigEp also had their annual Mom's Day at the Punch Bowl Social last Sunday. This event featured some great bowling, food and conversations! We love you Moms!

Overall, Sigma Phi Epsilon has been busy at work and will continue to keep our foot on the gas pedal as we finish the year strong!

This past weekend, Sigma Phi Epsilon's finest played in the Lakes and Legends hockey tournament, a Greek Life charity event at the University of Minnesota, in an effort to raise thousands of dollars for pediatric cancer. Thank you to everyone that donated to this fantastic cause and cheered us on along the way! After a hard fought weekend, SigEp won the championship in dominant fashion. We have now won 3 out of the last 4 tournaments and look to continue our winning tradition!

Thank you to the Interfraternity Council for hosting a great event! We'll see you next year!

Hello all,
On behalf of Justin Norby (Sigma Phi Epsilon) and Monica Harris (Alpha Phi), we would love to share with you all an upcoming event in our community. On Saturday March 3rd, the SigEp’s and Aphi’s of the University of Minnesota Greek Life will be climbing 1,280 steps at the IDS center in Minneapolis to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis (CF). Cystic Fibrosis is a severe illness that affects the respiratory system. CF has affected many lives including Justin’s younger brother, Max and Monica’s older sister, Shannon. We would love for you to join us on March 3rd or donate directly to the cause. Anything means the world to those who are affected by CF.

Earlier this month, 5 undergraduates from Minnesota Alpha had the honor to represent our chapter at the 55th Grand Chapter Conclave. Alongside our AVC, we took home awards, learned, and connected with top chapters and brothers from around the country. We are excited to continue this fantastic momentum into the fall!

Huge thanks to every individual in our chapter who helped raise money to get our chef, Aloma Gibson, front row tickets to the Diana Ross concert last night. An even bigger shoutout goes to our brother, Preston Carroll, for taking him to this concert and showing him a good time.

Gib continually told Preston how this was the best night of his life and how much he appreciated the gift and the guys that made this happen. Gib has impacted each of us in so many positive ways and it was very exciting to see how happy this made him!

Happy late birthday, Aloma!! Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity (Official)
