In our 4th book Nature's Yucky! in the Sea has a section on plastics in the environment. We talk about balloons and how very harmful they can be for wildlife. On July 1, 2024, a Florida law went into effect to prohibit the intentional release of balloons. This is a BIG help to all marine life, particularly sea turtles, sea birds, and manatees who swallow the plastic or get entangled in the strings. Let's hope that Floridians know about and follow the new law.

This day brought a bike ride to flowing 9 mile Creek and shooting hoops at our local basketball court perhaps the last day of the year when the weather will cooperate.
