We’re excited to announce that we are the chosen foundation for this year’s Bayfield Marina’s Charity Golf Scramble! The proceeds from this event will benefit our Alpha Beta scholarship program, and in light of this opportunity we wanted to remind you there is no better time to dust off your clubs and join us to raise money for this great program.
Founded by alumni of our own Zeta Psi chapter, the Alpha Beta Scholarships are open to U of MN-Twin Cities freshmen who show exemplary talents in school, have a demonstrated impact in their communities, and a drive to succeed in whatever endeavors they undertake. Our scholarship program exists to cultivate this kind of character, while strengthening our cornerstone value of giving back to the community. Last year we helped four future leaders, and over the last two years we’ve given out $6,250 to 11 students. Let that be just the start – help us do even more!
Grab 3 friends, or better yet everyone you know and come out September 19th to help more kids like Alyssa, Andrew, Blake and Amanda. $99 per player includes everything you love about a day at the links: greens fees, cart rental, pre-round range balls and a post round dinner. Also, plenty of chances to show Troy Burne Golf Club what a Zeta Psi can do with longest drive, longest putt and closest to the pin contests.
Even if you can’t join us in person, you can still make a difference – donate directly using the included envelope. Or consider sponsoring a hole, beginning at $150, or donating a prize for one of the on course contests.
So come out for your brothers and a cause well worth your support. You don’t have to be a golf pro or marina member to participate – just excited to help new students succeed in the great Zeta Psi tradition. To register contact Kori at 651.439.2040 or [email protected], or contact us, Tim Aanestad at 612-940-1201. We look forward to seeing you there!

Bourbon tasting hosted by the owner of the 45th parallel distillery, with the following Bourbons
Border Bourbon (Wisconsin)-Border Straight Bourbon is truly “small batch” in every detail. Border Straight Bourbon is artisan distilled from grains provided by a 6th generation family farm, minutes from the distillery. No short cuts. We practice traditional aging techniques in medium char, Ozark White Oak barrels constructed from wood staves that are air dried three years. No Blending: only whiskey from our grain and distilled in our pot is put in bottles that carry our name.
Panther Bourbon (Minnesota)-We hope you’re not in a hurry, because when it comes to our bourbon, we’re not rushing anything. Thank goodness time passes slowly up north. We’re able to focus all of our attention on hand-crafting beautiful bourbon in small batches.
Cedar Ridge Iowa Bourbon Whiskey (Iowa)-For the best in bourbon, go straight to the heart of corn country. Cedar Ridge Bourbon is built on a base of corn whiskey, barley and rye. Artisans guide the nation’s favorite blend through distillation, charcoal filtering and aging. This is the best of the Midwest in a bottle and recently given a Five Star rating by the New York Times along with many national and international awards.
Cody Road Bourbon (Iowa)-This bourbon is made from a mash of 70% corn from LeClaire, 20% wheat and 10% unmalted barley from Reynolds, IL. It is aged for one year in newly charred 30 gallon oak barrels, about half the size of a traditional whiskey barrels. Cody Road Bourbon is a flavor and aroma experience unlike any other. Enjoy sweetness of corn, light fruit from wheat and a grassy, nutty finish from the unmalted barley. Vanilla and caramel from the oak dance around the sweet grain. Bottled at 90 proof, this bourbon has enough kick to know it's bourbon, but a beautifully smooth finish.
Blanton’s Original Single Barrel (Kentucky)-Taken from the center-cut or middle sections of the famous Warehouse H, Blanton’s Original was once designated for ambassadors, dignitaries, and Colonel Blanton’s family and friends. Today, everyone has access to the world’s first single barrel bourbon. The taste profile is sweet with citrus and oak. A creamy vanilla nose features hints of nuts, caramel, orange and light chocolate. Blanton’s Original set the standard for single barrel bourbons.
A Discussion of the State of the Twins with Lavelle E Neal (baseball beat writer from the Star and Tribune) followed by a Question and Answer session.

Wine Tasting in Lillydale on Saturday at the Perfect Ash Cigar club starting at 6pm.
Wine tasting was a huge success. Most money we have raised to date. The event would not have taken place without Robert Fowler donating so much of his time and not to mention his wine.
Last year we gave away 4 scholarships of various amounts. This year there will be a minimum of 6 thanks to the success of the tasting.
This summer there is a golf event on June 22. Please mark your calendars.
