🌟 Meet the Board Member: Kim! 🌟
We’re excited to spotlight one of our amazing Iowa Society for Respiratory Care leaders—Kim, District #5 Director!
🎉 Kim is in her first year on the board, bringing with her over 13 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist. She currently serves as a Market Development Director with United Therapeutics, a pulmonary hypertension biopharmaceutical company.
Kim is passionate about advancing the respiratory care profession, supporting RTs across Iowa, and creating opportunities for connection, education, and professional growth. One of her favorite parts of being involved with IaSRC is building relationships with RTs across the state and advocating for the future of our field.
💙 Outside of work, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, traveling, golfing, tackling home design projects, and cheering on her kids at their activities.

💬 Favorite RT Memory:
Kim holds a special place in her heart for volunteering at Camp Foster’s Asthma Camp in Okoboji. Watching kids with asthma gain confidence, have fun, and just be kids outside of the hospital setting was incredibly meaningful. This summer will be extra special as her 7-year-old son attends Camp Foster for the first time!

🌟 Board Member Spotlight: Molly Schaefer 🌟
Meet Molly Schaefer our District 4 Director! Molly is in her 4th year of service on the board over the past 19 years and brings a wealth of experience and passion to everything she does.
💙 About Molly
Molly has been a respiratory therapist for nearly 19 years, working in a critical access hospital where she wears many hats that include pulmonary function testing and cardiac rehab to sleep studies, ER support, and more. Her journey into respiratory care began after shadowing an RT in high school, inspired by her own lifelong experience with asthma.
🏡 Life Outside of Work
When she’s not serving the board or caring for patients, you’ll find Molly enjoying anything outdoors, including camping and gardening. She spends most of her time with her husband Tanner and their three kids: Emma, Karlee, and Ryan. She also shares her home with a dog (Archie), two farm cats (Boomerang and Frank), and chickens!
