Our third Alumni-Students Interaction Session will be hold virtually this Thursday, March 3, 6:00 - 7:00 pm CST! The guest is Hamidreza Badri, who graduated from the ISyE PhD program in 2016 at the UMN, he works as a Senior Data Scientist at Netflix. Before joining Netflix, he worked at Target as a Lead Data Scientist.

This is definitely a great opportunity to interact with our alumnis and learn about the career experiences in industry. Looking forward to seeing you then!

We are going to organize a workshop "Understanding the journal paper process and writing papers that will be chosen for publication" by Prof. Alice Smith in-person this Friday, Feb 11th, 11:00am-3:00pm CDT!

Prof. Alice Smith is the Joe W. Forehand/Accenture Distinguished Professor of the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department at Auburn University and is an active INFORMS official speaker. This workshop is designed to help graduate students and new faculty members to engage in the academic journal system productively.

Our first Alumni-Students Interaction Sessions during this academic year will be hold tomorrow (Thursday, Nov 18, 7:00 - 8:00 pm CDT). The guest speakers are Guiyun Feng and Xiaobo Li, who graduated from University of Minnesota ISyE Ph.D program in 2018, they are currently working in Singapore Management University and National University of Singapore as assistant professors. This is definitely a great opportunity for graduate students to interact with our alumni and please refer the poster for more detailed information.

Happy new semester! The INFORMS Student Chapter at UMN kick-off event is coming soon! This is our first hybrid event after the COVID and we are thrilled to see you in-person/virtually! Foods, soft drinks, bowling as well as board games will be provided for in-person meeting! Moreover, our kick-off event will be combined with ISyE social grad event, it is an absolutely excellent opportunity to get knowledge of INFORMS, build connections with other ISyE grads and have fun! Thank you all who came to Pentair's manufacturing plant in Anoka this past Friday. We got a tour of the facility as well as received Pentair's Nuts & Bolts Lean Training! We learned a lot and had fun doing it!
