Strongly recommend this book for spooky Halloween season. It’s a collection of short fiction - not all horror - by Stephen King’s son, who had the gumption to take an entirely different pen name. Between you and me, he’s even better than his dad 🤫

I’m posting this late because I’m at my mother-in-law’s house doing mother-in-law things and I can’t get into the SYSK Instagram account so I’ll just post this here since Chuck is near and dear to my heart anyway. Happy Birthday to the best damn podcaster from Timbuktu to Portland, Maine - or Portland, Oregon for that matter. Here’s to you, Chuckers! 🥳

When you think of a podcast you probably just think of the voices of the hosts. But that’s just the finished product of a long process created by a lot of talented people. I’m very lucky that every single one of the people I work with to keep SYSK going is amazing. iHeart has the deepest pool of talented, dedicated, incredibly chill people who can turn amazing work around on the tightest of deadlines, create new shows out of thin air, and make it all look easy while they do.
So I am very proud we have a union at iHeart that is working to make sure every one of the people I work alongside are treated and compensated like the career professionals they are. Any person who dedicates their professional life to a company deserves to have the things that balance life and work, like (among other things) pay that can support a good life, good health insurance, and decent time off. That’s why I support the iHeart Podcast Union in the fight for a fair contract. Keep it up, !

My friend .bunting went to the edge of space and all I got was this lousy [very awesome] patch. Check out his feed - he’s got a whole load of amazing photos from his trip.

I’m 47. I love gardening with Umi, feeding squirrels with Momo, podcasting with Chuck, and long dinners and lowkey hangs with the best of friends. I’m afraid of over-sleeping and public speaking. I never have trouble sleeping, but I sometimes keep Umi and Momo awake. At 47, I still can’t decide if I’m going to see Barbie or Oppenheimer first this weekend.
Thank you guys so much for all the happy wishes last week. I think this is the first time I’ve ever celebrated a full grown-up birthday week and then some. 💛
