On Monday, the Macalester College Board of Trustees announced their intentions to “divest of all dedicated, publicly traded oil and gas assets, including all shares of Enbridge, Inc.” and to “adopt a college investment policy that prohibits new investments that are solely invested in oil and gas assets,” in response to our proposal.
What does this mean? That Macalester exceeded the financial demands of our proposal and divested not just from Line 3, but the majority of their remaining oil and gas investments.
That’s a pretty big deal.
