Children don’t need microphones, cameras, or pressure after experiencing a traumatic event, they need protection, patience, and care.
As a school psychologist, I want to share both what NOT to do with children after a school shooting, and what TO do instead.
❌ Don’t force retelling.
❌ Don’t minimize feelings.
❌ Don’t use media as a microphone.
✔️ Create safety and stability.
✔️ Validate emotions.
✔️ Protect their privacy and healing process.
Let’s stand together to protect children and give them the space they need to heal. 🕊️

Another year down! 🎉
It’s hard to believe it’s been 4 years as a business owner and full time entrepreneur.
I’m so incredibly blessed and thankful for this journey!
In honor of my 4 year anniversary I am asking for you to make a donation to the annual NAMI Walks.
NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
As a current board member I would be so grateful if you added yourself to my donor list. You can also join the NAMI Walk with me on September 23rd!

Self-care encompasses a range of practices that you have to figure out on your own and ask yourself, what’s best for me?
The best way to incorporate self-care into your life is to start with something small that you can do everyday.
