I'm watching a documentary on Jennifer Dulos… The wealthy mother of five who disappeared from Connecticut, and it turned out she was likely killed by her husband. She attempted to get a restraining order, but in Connecticut (like here in MN), you have to have proof that there has been physical harm and/or threats of physical harm...emotional/psychological abuse is not considered domestic violence.

Those of us who have experienced emotional abuse from a narcissist know that this type of abuse can be just as deadly (either due to murder by the spouse, or due to us taking our own lives). Please believe and support women when they tell you they are experiencing emotional/psychological abuse, and once they have processed the trauma they have experienced, I would love to share with them the steps I took to re-find myself through authentic self-care when I finally got out of this type of abusive relationship.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results - and as we know, most of us don't ever follow through on our New Year's resolutions....

Instead of setting yourself up for failure this year (which is not conducive for motivating us to achieve our goals, by the way), really take the time to do the work and assess your life - where you're at and where you want to be, and focus on finding and being your authentic self!
