Connection Crew 2016-2017

Hey Connection Crew,

A few leaders have been working on putting together a Halloween carnival, but we need your help. We need you to come and encourage the 9th graders to participate. Some of the leaders will need your help running specific activities. We definitely need your help making sure the gym is cleaned up by 8:25 so it can be used second hour.

Come to the lower gym on Monday (Oct. 31st).
If you are a leader in charge of an activity, be there by 7 a.m.
If you are not in charge of an activity, be there by 7:15 a.m.
You can wear a Halloween costume if you want (no clowns, please).
If you aren't coming in costume please wear your purple CC shirt.

Hey Connection Crew,

We are meeting Friday morning at 8 a.m. in the Auditorium to talk about the 9th graders' Youth Frontiers Retreat happening next week. This meeting is mandatory!

We need to make sure at least one leader from every group will be there at the retreat (lower gym) the whole day.

Just a reminder to be ready to enthusiastically greet the 9th graders at 7:15 a.m. tomorrow by all the main entrances to the school.

Don't forget to sign in!!! There will be a sign-in sheet hung on the wall next to the water fountain by the HS office.

I've received emails from a few of you that can't make it tomorrow for various reasons. If you are one of those people it is your responsibility to find out what you missed from others in your group.

Do you know when the mandatory Leader Training is? You do now!
Leader Training is on Tuesday, August 30th, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Come to the high school gym with closed-toed shoes and your fabulous self.

Do you know what else is happening next week? The 9th Grade Orientation (also mandatory)!
Orientation will be on Thursday, September 1st, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Your mission right now, right this second, is to contact at least one other person you know in Connection Crew and ask them if they got this email. The secret word (so you know they actually read the email) is “Flabbergast.”

Hope all of you are having a wonderful and relaxing summer. With the start of August comes some thoughts on Connection Crew and getting things moving for the year. I will be ordering the purple shirts, as you suggested, but I am missing sizes for a few of you...if you did not return a questionnaire at the end of last school year, please let me know your size. If I do not hear from you, I will be guessing on a size (sorry about that).

Just a reminder that the Leader Training is Tuesday, August 30 from 9:30 to 12 noon...in the high school gym. Wear close-toed shoes and be ready for some fun and learning.

9th Grade orientation is Thursday, September 1 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., also in the gym. Your attendance is mandatory.

We will need a few of you to meet and create an agenda with games and learning. If you are willing to be on that committee, please meet next Tuesday, the 16th at 10 a.m. in Room 201 of the High School (Ms. Bodurtha's classroom).

Just a reminder to all connection crew leaders, here is the schedule

just a quick reminder that the Connection Crew Leaders can enjoy a piece of pizza tomorrow (Thursday) during your lunch. Just stop on by the Auditorium foyer and enjoy! I will have some tables and chairs for you to enjoy lunch in the foyer as well.

SENIORS: Thanks for all of your help this year ... You are a great group of leaders. I will distribute blue cords to those seniors who have earned this recognition at this lunch!

JUNIORS: we will meet on Tuesday, June 7, 8 a.m., with our newly-selected leaders, to discuss next year's beginning of year schedule.

We will discuss details for the end of year items, including tryouts, lunch, and graduation. There will also be a guest to get your feedback on a vision for the city. Plus, I would also like your feedback for the this year's Connection Crew events!

There will be a mandatory meeting for all LEADERS this THURSDAY, APRIL 28, at 8:10 a.m. in the BAND ROOM (Jazz Band is practicing in the Auditorium).

REMINDER: 9th Grade Orientation is Monday, the 18th of April which is NEXT MONDAY. I expect all Connection Crew Leaders to be present to welcome the new group of 9th graders. Please arrive by 6 p.m. for their arrival at 6:30 p.m. WEAR YOUR CC SHIRT, PLEASE!

I will need a group of you to lead tours as well. Let me know, please, if you are able to do so. You should be done and out of here by 8:30 p.m.

Merah Norman will be giving our suckers to the current 8th graders in the middle school on Thursday morning, during 1st hour. If there is anyone who can help her, please let me know. It should be a 10 minute thing!

We are getting close to ending the year and seniors who still wish to earn that blue cord for graduation have just a few more options! Let me know if you need ideas!

We will also have tryouts for next year's leaders very soon. I have a group of juniors who are willing to lead but if there are seniors to assist as well, this could count toward your blue cord. Again, please contact me if you are interested.

Thanks for a great year of Connection Crew! We need to celebrate the seniors too...so that date is forthcoming as well.
