Earlier this week we welcomed our newest students to Summit Academy OIC during our New Student Orientation, an important and necessary step prior to starting their training. Students met with instructors and staff to learn more about their training, collect their student ID and meet their classmates. We are excited to support our next group of students in their future career paths!

During National Volunteer Appreciation Week, we’re proud to spotlight Ryan Companies US, Inc. for the role they play in helping Summit students enter the construction field with confidence.

Ryan Companies employees regularly step into our classrooms to lead mock interviews and host guest speaker panels made up of Ryan team members, offering insight into the hiring process, day-to-day expectations, and the many paths within construction careers.

With Ryan Companies’ support, Summit students walk away better prepared to navigate interviews, build relationships, and pursue careers they may not have otherwise been able to.

Our carpentry students are once again preparing to visit the Steger Center from April 26th to May 8th where they’ll be able to use the skills they’ve learned here at Summit to work on real-world projects. They will be accompanied by two Summit Academy instructors to help coach and guide them through their stay. Students will also share experiences beyond campus exploring Ely such as canoeing, hiking and much more!
