This was a very productive and informative meeting! We were also glad to get to speak more with our EWV-Mingo endorsed candidates - Wendy Coleman (29th House District) and Wyatt Lilly (6th Senate District)! They care deeply about our public schools and will work to save our public schools!

Thank you to the East Fork Volunteer Fire Department for allowing us to have this event at the station, and all of the organizations that helped host this event!

Reach out to your local politicians and ask them to fix our funding formula! Until the funding formula is fixed, we will continue to face more and more school closures like we’re already experiencing with Dingess. It doesn’t have to be this way! Reach out and call for your representatives to fix the funding formula and save our schools!

August 9 is the first day of WV legislative interim sessions, and this is the best time for lawmakers fix the school funding formula. Students and communities should not have to suffer through unnecessary school closures while waiting on lawmakers to take action.

We are very disappointed to see this decision be made. We have also heard several concerning rumors, and we are asking for any parent or staff member who is willing to share information with us to reach out so we can talk! We are working to help how we can, and we could use your help with this!

Mingo County Schools superintendent Dr. Joetta Basile confirmed on July 15 that the process to close Dingess Elementary has formally begun.
