The last day of camp was the BEST day! ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ˜

The Fort Worth Zoo did not disappoint! Throughout the day, campers competed in zoo-themed Minute to Win It challenges that promoted teamwork, critical thinking, communication, and grit while exploring the zoo. Every student gave their all and showed incredible leadership skills along the way.

After a week of competition, the winner of the Camp Challenges wasโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿฅ

The 6th Grade Team by only ONE point!

Talk about a close finish! Both grade levels worked incredibly hard all week, and we are so proud of their determination, teamwork, and positive attitudes. It was amazing to watch these young leaders encourage one another and step outside of their comfort zones throughout the week.

We wrapped up camp with unforgettable animal encounters, lots of laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you to our campers and families for making our 3rd Annual Student Council Leadership Camp such a success! โค๏ธ

๐ŸŒŠโ˜€๏ธ Day 3 of Student Council Leadership Camp was one for the books! โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ

We had the BEST day playing in the water! We raced, laughed, splashed, and made so many great memories together.

The highly anticipated puzzle rematch between 5th and 6th grade took place today. Unfortunately for the 5th graders, the 6th graders proved once again that they have superior puzzle-solving skills! ๐Ÿงฉ๐Ÿ†

Students also teamed up for a mummy-wrapping challenge, "styling" their partners with supplies and creativity. It was fun hearing all the different strategies and watching students discover that sometimes slowing down and working carefully is the key to success!

Before heading outside, campers tackled several more Minute-to-Win-It challenges, bringing plenty of energy and excitement to the day.

Duck, Duck, Goose was definitely today's fan favorite! Be sure to check out the photos to see all the hilarious reactions as campers got splashed with the water sponge. We also enjoyed freeze tag, relay races, and lots of other outdoor fun!

After working up an appetite, we fired up the grill and enjoyed a delicious lunch of hot dogs and hamburgers! Nothing beats a cookout with friends after a morning full of fun and friendly competition. ๐ŸŒญ๐Ÿ”

This afternoon, we came inside to cool off and hydrate before taking on our "Paint a Secret Friend" challenge. Campers created mini masterpieces for their mystery friend and then revealed their artwork during the big surprise. The grand reveal brought lots of laughter and smiles! Congratulations to Sophia and Hunter, who took home the prize for this challenge! ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ‘

Tomorrow is our final day of camp, and we're heading out on a field trip! Any guesses where you might find us? ๐Ÿ‘€๐ŸšŒ

Day 2 of Student Council Leadership Camp was another success! ๐ŸŽ‰

We are accomplishing goals, preparing for an amazing school year, and making memories that will last a lifetime!

โญ Todayโ€™s Recap:

We kicked off the morning with a โ€œsweetโ€ challenge! Campers had to shimmy a cookie from their forehead into their mouth without using their hands. The concentration, determination, and hilarious facial expressions had everyone laughing!

Next, we continued our grade-level competitions with a Tower Power Challenge. Students had two minutes to build the tallest cup tower possible. Congratulations to Walter and Kinley for earning the point for 5th grade! ๐Ÿ†

Our campers also began assembling goodie bags for incoming 4th graders as part of a service project designed to help new students feel welcomed and excited about joining our campus. ๐Ÿ’™

We practiced the important skill of writing and addressing letters by creating Community Gratitude Letters for individuals who make a positive impact in our lives and community.

One of the highlights of the day was our Student Council version of Shark Tank! ๐Ÿฆˆ Students partnered up to brainstorm and pitch fundraising ideas to support next yearโ€™s major service projectโ€”creating an outdoor learning area for our campus. Congratulations to Walter and Alexa for taking first place, with Ella and Lyla earning a very close second place finish!

To wrap up the afternoon, students raced their hearts out in a grade-level relay around the track. After a close competition, 6th grade pulled off the winโ€”by just barely! ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Of course, camp wouldnโ€™t be complete without treats! We enjoyed sโ€™mores and several other challenges throughout the day.

๐ŸŒŠ We canโ€™t wait for Water Wednesday tomorrow!

๐Ÿ“Š Current Point Standings:
5th Grade โ€” 6 points
6th Grade โ€” 7 points

The competition is close! Who do you think will take the lead tomorrow?

Today was Day One of our 3rd Annual Student Council Leadership Camp! We were excited to welcome back 5 returning officers and introduce 8 new officers and ambassadors. We canโ€™t wait to see what these incredible young leaders accomplish this school year!

โœจ Day One Recap โœจ

๐Ÿฉ A huge thank you to Ella for bringing donuts! It was the perfect way to start our morning.

๐ŸŽฏ We reviewed expectations and set individual goals for the year ahead.

๐Ÿ–๏ธ Students learned about one another by creating โ€œAll About Meโ€ pages. Congratulations to Lyla and Sophia for creating the most creative designs!

๐Ÿค Service Project: Campers assembled Welcome Bags for new students who join Travis after the school year begins. Starting at a new school can be intimidating, and we want every new student to feel welcomed and prepared with the supplies they need.

๐ŸŽค We were also fortunate to have a special guest speaker, Mrs. Rhonda Murphy, who shared valuable information about online safety, cyberbullying, and digital footprints. Students learned the importance of making responsible choices online and how their actions can have a lasting impact.

๐ŸŽ‰ Team Building Activities: Students participated in a variety of Minute-to-Win-It challenges designed to build new friendships and strengthen existing ones. Activities included quick-build puzzles, balloon games, dice challenges, and relays.

๐Ÿ† Shaping a Leader Challenge: Students practiced giving detailed instructions and asking thoughtful questions while attempting to recreate an unknown object. This activity highlighted the importance of two-way communication and reminded us that effective leaders listen just as much as they speak. Congratulations to Kinley for winning this challenge!

๐ŸŽฅ We also began filming our Back-to-School video, recorded testimonials about why students should join Student Council, started decorating bulletin boards and welcome posters, and created friendship bracelets to hand out on the first day of school.

๐Ÿ“Š At the end of Day One, our camp competition standings are:
๐Ÿฅ‡ 6th Grade โ€“ 4 points
๐Ÿฅˆ 5th Grade โ€“ 3 points

We had an amazing first day and canโ€™t wait to see what tomorrow brings!

Itโ€™s Student Council Election Season! ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธโญ๏ธ

Our candidates are already hard at work preparing for election! Theyโ€™ve turned in their applications and written responses to Mrs. Nixon, and are now gearing up for the next steps. Students will be campaigning with homemade posters and preparing for their interviews as they work toward becoming our next Student Council leaders.

We are so proud of these students for stepping up, showing leadership, and being willing to serve our school! ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ‰

Student Council members got creative with a rock painting activity focused on spreading kindness! ๐ŸŽจ

Students painted rocks with messages of encouragement and positivity, and we are planning to hide them around campus soon for others to find. The goal? To brighten someoneโ€™s day and remind everyone that they are capable of great things!

Be on the lookoutโ€”you never know when you might find a little message that makes you smile. ๐Ÿ˜Š
