It all started in a cemetery

In 2002, I published my first book. It was a novel - novella, really - based on growing up in small-town Texas in the 1970s. The critical event (conflict) in the book was based on an actual event from my childhood. The photo above is from Father’s Day 2012 when I took my wife and daughters to Strawn, Texas (the inspiration for “Rooster” in the book) to visit the cemetery and the church that played such a vital role in my adolescent life.
