Join fellow Badgers at one of our chapter's casual get-togethers. Connect, reconnect, meet new alumni, and enjoy great conversation, food, and drinks in a relaxed outdoor setting. Whether you graduated recently or decades ago, this is a great opportunity to celebrate your Wisconsin connection and spend an evening with fellow alumni. These are drop in events, no need to register. Just look for those in red.

Additionally, as part of our community service effort, we will be collecting non-perishable food donations for the Milwaukee Hunger Task Force at all locations. Donations may include non-perishable food items in canned, boxed or plastic containers. Please no glass jars. We recently highlighted Bob in our Chapter newsletter: In the fall of 1963, Bob Richter was a football walk-on at the University of Wisconsin. Hailing from Milwaukee Lutheran, he was already a highly decorated high-school athlete in football, baseball and basketball. Despite the fact that in 1963, college freshman were ineligible for varsity competition in football, Bob’s playing so impressed the coaching staff, he was put on scholarship the next three seasons. By the time Bob was a senior in 1966 he had been named team captain, was the Badgers Most Valuable Player, voted first team Big Ten at linebacker and was Honorable Mention All-American.

Bob’s academics kept pace with his athletics. Excelling off the field in the classroom he was 1st team Academic Big Ten selection, as well as a 2nd team Academic All-American. Bob was also selected to play that year (1966) in the Blue-Gray All Star game.

Since his UW days, Bob has received numerous awards for his contributions to the UW community, including the distinguished Iron Cross Award for leadership in both academics and athletics. In 1985, Bob received the UW Distinguished Alumni Award. He served as President of the National Letterman’s Club (1993) and he was the Milwaukee UW Club President from 1983 to 1985. Bob’s community influence extended to the MACC Fund Board (30 years), Downtown Kiwanis Club Board (20 years) and Center for Blind and Visually Impaired Children (30 years). Bob is now retired after working in the commercial and residential Real Estate industry for 50 years.

Bob continues to be an active and dedicated member to the Wisconsin Alumni’s Milwaukee Chapter Board. Plus, Bob was recently inducted into the inaugural class of Milwaukee Lutheran’s Hall of Fame. Bob truly embodies the Badger spirit. On, Wisconsin!

Join UW-Madison alumni, family and friends at the WAA-Milwaukee Chapter annual Milkmen Game on June 5th vs the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks at Franklin Field. First pitch is at 6:30PM. Gates open at 5:30 PM. at an entertaining Milkmen's ball game.
