In recognition of Women’s History Month, MPS is proud to honor the legacy of Amelia Mallory, the first female principal in Milwaukee Public Schools. Director Fons submitted a proclamation celebrating Mallory’s historic leadership and the lasting impact of women across our district and community.

The proclamation also formally recognizes March as Women's History Month within MPS, a time to reflect on the achievements, contributions, and leadership of women throughout history and within our own schools. Throughout the month, we celebrate the many women—past and present—who have shaped education, empowered students, and strengthened our community.

Due to weather conditions, all MPS schools and sites are closed on Monday, March 16,2026. All after-school activities are canceled.
