We are pleased to begin accepting proposals for our annual fall conference, hosted this year October 2-3 at Viterbo University as they celebrate 20 years of Latin American Studies on campus.
This year's theme is Movement and Movements in Latin(x) America – an interdisciplinary conference. Submit by June 15 on our website!
Graduate and advanced undergraduate students are strongly encouraged to participate. The NCCLA is especially interested in presentations of faculty-student collaborative research.

The 2025 NCCLA Conference, hosted by St. Olaf College , explored the theme “Many Latin Americas,” bringing together students, faculty, and independent scholars to share research, dialogue, and community.
We were honored to welcome Dr. John Tutino (Georgetown University ) as keynote speaker and Reyna Grande and Sonia Guiñansaca for their book presentation on "Somewhere We Are Human: Authentic Voices on Migration, Survival, and New Beginnings." Their insights set the tone for a weekend filled with engaging panels and cross-disciplinary exchange.

This past fall, we held a hybrid conference at Valparaiso University with the theme “The Interplay of Disciplines in Latin American and Latinx Studies.”
We had folks presenting from Chile, Peru, United States, Senegal, and India.

The NCCLA, with the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University, announces their Call for Papers for the 53rd Annual Conference entitled, "Racism, Pandemics, and Other Struggles for Latinxs and Latin America."
The conference will be fully remote.
Proposals from students, faculty, and independent scholars of all disciplines are welcome. Proposals (250-300 words) can be emailed to Megan Sheehan ([email protected]) by January 10, 2021.
