What a incredible reunion weekend for Messmer's Class of 1976! They celebrated their 50th with 3 days of events, and countless memories. đź’™ A few highlights from the weekend:

⚾️ Friday: Started the weekend strong at the Brewers game! They scored a big-screen shoutout, special prizes, and even a visit from Bernie Brewer.
🎉 Saturday: Reconnected over food and drinks with a great crowd.
🙏Sunday: Wrapped up back at Messmer with a tour, a meaningful Mass with Fr. Tim Kitzke, and a reception complete with a surprise impromptu singing of our school song and cheer!

Thank you to everyone who came out and made this weekend so special. Once a Bishop, always a Bishop!

Our first prayer service of the year brought together two different speakers, the same message. Plant the garden. Trust the bloom. 🌱

Campus Minister Mr. Radakovich reflected on Jeremiah 29:11, the scripture behind this year's theme, reminding students that growth takes root through the journey, not when it is over. He said planting gardens and growing takes time, effort, and patience. "You plant a garden when you commit to living in the present."

Then senior Afjia spoke from her years of experience at Messmer: "Imagine yourself as a flower. You will bloom when you're ready. You will blossom, you will shine brighter than you ever did before. But, you have to want it. You have to work for it. YOU have to make it happen." 🌸

This morning, our students arrived ready to reconnect with friends, take on new challenges and begin another year at Messmer. May our classrooms be places of learning and wonder, our community a place of belonging, and our school a place where faith, hope, and love guide all that we do.

As we look forward to a new school year beginning next week, we step forward with hope.

This year, we are grounding our Messmer community in a shared Scriptural Theme:

“For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.” — Jeremiah 29:11

These words will be a reminder throughout the year that our students are deeply loved, their futures are full of possibility, and God is with them on the journey.

As we begin a new year, we pray for growth, discovery, courage, and hope. May our students know they are surrounded by a community that believes in them, and may they carry this promise with them wherever their path leads.

Innovation doesn’t always happen in a classroom.

At Messmer, we’re always looking for new ways to remove barriers and help students succeed — and that includes getting to school.

We’re partnering with OnTime Student on a new school-approved volunteer carpooling program that connects students with dependable community members for rides to and from school.

Parents. Guardians. Alumni. Friends of Messmer: If you’re already driving to work, school or other daily activities, you may be able to help a Messmer student along the way, while earning rewards to help offset gas and vehicle expenses.

A simple ride can mean better attendance, fewer late arrivals and one more reason a student knows their community is behind them.
