Congratulations to our Department Chair Dr. Allison Hyngstrom on being awarded an R01 grant from the National Institutes of Health!
This $1.69 million award will fund research into improving exercise capacity for stroke survivors. Alongside Dr. Matthew Durand from MCW, Dr. Hyngstrom is investigating how ischemic conditioning can help survivors achieve the high-intensity exercise needed for gains in motor performance. We are proud to have her leadership and expertise in our department.

Geri Assessment Day - East Castle Place!
Over the past two weeks, our Pro-1s took learning beyond the classroom and into the real world for their Senior Assessment Day visits! π Students had the incredible opportunity to explore assisted living communities across the Milwaukee area, putting their Geriatric Rehab skills into action by working hands-on with residents. Between hands-on evaluations and genuine interactions, it was a memorable experience that truly enriched their learning.
Comment below, can you spot some of your fellow Pro-1 classmates? π
