Hello Families! It's that time of year to get our coaches for our fall sports teams!

We are in need of coaches for the following teams:
Soccer grades 1-3, 4-5
Volleyball grade 4-5
Flag football grades 1-3, 4-5, 6-8
Girls basketball grades 4-5, 6-8

Requirements to be a coach are to hold one practice each week after school and coach one game on Saturdays and attend the coaches meeting given by the rec department.

Please email Ms. Huebschen at [email protected] as soon as possible as I need to get your name submitted to the rec department for hiring.

Welcome, Parkside Kindergarten Families!

We are SO excited for you to join our amazing school community this fall, and we know you are loaded with many thoughts, feelings, and questions. So...we got you covered! Please take a moment to scan the QR code embedded in the attached flyer to RSVP to one of our 4 Meet-n-Greet Kinder Orientation sessions scheduled for August 13th & 25th at the Bayview Library. This is a time for adults caring for our 4K & 5K families to learn a bit more about Parkside, make new connections, get plugged in, and have a little fun.

Please note that in addition to this invitation, you will be mailed a packet of information with your child's classroom teacher and other need-to-knows around the first week in August - so, start checking your mailboxes next week!

The Milwaukee Recreation Skate Van made a stop at Summer Camp Parkside! 🛼 What a beautiful day to be outside, skating, and jamming to the music!

Due to the Extreme Heat Summer Camp Parkside is closed Tuesday 7/14 and Wednesday 7/15. Stay safe. ☀️

Due to predicted hot weather, the following Milwaukee Recreation programs and activities will be canceled on Tuesday, July 14 and Wednesday, July 15:

- Summer Stars (Basketball & Soccer)

- Late Night League (Basketball & Soccer)
- Community Center classes at all locations EXCEPT Beulah Brinton and Hamilton
- MPS Drive (Behind-the-wheel lessons will run as scheduled)

- 50+ Softball
- Outdoor Adult Sports Leagues
- Outdoor Permits
- Outdoor Education Programs
- Milwaukee City Conference (MCC)
- Team Milwaukee Special Olympics
- OASIS Community Center classes

The free summer playground program (including splash pads, wading pools, cool spots, and free meals) will remain open. Locations and meal times can be found at mkerec.net/playgrounds.

- Outdoor Community Wellness classes

Things got WILD at Milwaukee Parkside School for the Arts Summer Camp Parkside this afternoon! We had a visit from Havens Petting Farm during our “Where the Wild Things Are” Week! Our Camper’s said it was like they were living a dream as they got to spend an afternoon playing and feeding all the animals!!! 💙💚

What an incredible week at Summer Camp Parkside for Week #2 - SUPER STEM Week! 🚀🔬🧪
Campers explored, discovered, created, and experimented through hands-on activities that sparked curiosity and inspired innovation. We also traveled to Legoland Discovery Center and Bison Bluff 🦬 Nature Playground in Schaumburg, Illinois!

We can’t wait for a WILD Week 3! 🦒 🦓 🦁 🐘
