Join us for our first HBCU Alumni BBQ & Senior Send-off event. This event will take place July 19th at McGovern Park Picnic Area #3, 12pm-6pm.

This is a time to relax and share information about upcoming events for your alumni chapters and to recognize those students who are traveling to attend our beloved institutions this fall, as well as those students who are home for summer break.

Meet Our New Interim President:
The Board of Supervisors for the University of Louisiana System’s Executive Committee appointed Dr. Connie Walton as interim president of Grambling State University. Dr. Walton previously served as the institution’s provost and vice president for academic affairs and worked at Grambling for nearly eight years. She earned her Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Southern Mississippi.

She believes that her life is a testimony to the impact that Grambling State University can have on a student’s life. She knew as an undergraduate student at Grambling State University that she wanted to come back and be a part of the faculty and this appointment provides an additional way to serve this great institution and help shape the lives of students. Our former President Rick Gallot truly believes she’s proven her dedication to the institution and its success through her commitment to advancing cybersecurity and the nursing programs, both of which are now soaring, and he knows she will bring that same determination to the interim presidency.

We have missed gathering for the past three years due to the pandemic. HBCU Alumni United is ready to welcome all HBCU alumni and friends of HBCUs to join us on September 15, 2023, as we gather for food, fun, and fellowship!!

They will honor our 2020 and 2023 alumni awards recipients on that evening and they look forward to re-engaging with you as we continue to support students at HBCUs.
