📚💙 What a special afternoon in Milton! 💙📚

Today was one of those days that reminds us just how special a community can be when we come together for our children.

Our kindergarten –3rd grade students had the opportunity to listen to some very special people read to them as part of Mountain Readers Become Leaders, a statewide literacy initiative celebrating the joy of reading and the amazing authors of West Virginia.

We were so blessed to have members of the Milton Police Department and Milton Fire Department, our Mayor, two members of our City Council, and a representative from the Milton Library spend time with our students. ❤️

But they didn’t just read a story. They gave our children their time and their attention.

Watching our students listen, smile, ask questions, and get excited about reading was truly heartwarming. 📖✨ These are the moments that children remember — and the moments that help them understand that their community believes in them.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to pour into our kids today. Your presence meant more than you may ever know. It truly takes a village, and we are incredibly grateful for the wonderful people who continue to show up for our students. 💙

Here’s to raising a generation who reads, dreams, learns, and leads! 📚✨

We packed so much excitement into one day!

🔤 Alphabet Parade: Our adorable kindergarteners celebrated the alphabet in style during our annual Alphabet Parade! We loved seeing all of their creativity and excitement! 📚✨

❤️ Celebrating Our Service Personnel: Today we celebrated some of the incredible people who help make Milton Elementary such a special place every day—our cooks, secretaries, aides, and custodians! These amazing staff members are known as our Service Personnel, and we are so thankful for everything they do for our students and staff. Our PTO helped us celebrate by providing a delicious cake and cupcakes! 🎂🧁❤️

🏈 Staff Tailgate: We also enjoyed our staff tradition of gathering on the Friday before a Marshall University home game! Today’s menu featured a delicious pasta bar, salad, and desserts, making for a perfect staff lunch and a great opportunity to enjoy some time together! 💚🏈

📖 Mystery Reader: We ended our busy day with our first Mystery Reader! The excitement and curiosity from our students made it the perfect way to wrap up an amazing day! 🤫📚

We want to take a minute to recognize all of our service personnel! They are a big part of what makes our school so wonderful.

🐾From the men who clean up after us and take care of our building to those lovely ladies who arrive early and cook for our students to the aides who work so hard in our classrooms with students to the secretaries who keep things running smoothly…we couldn’t make it without you!🐾

We appreciate all you do!!!
