In 2007 and 2008 during my career with the Secret Service, I was deployed to Iraq to combat terror financing and foreign fighter influences. Years later I would learn (totally by coincidence from a Democrat Senator) that my housing unit was in the direct prevailing wind pattern of the biggest burn pit in Iraq.

The previous bill only protects USmil members. Please contact your local members of Congress and encourage them to support the modification of this bill to include the thousands of civilians that supported the GWOT serving in country.

A burn pit law from Congress left out thousands of American civilians working for the government who were exposed to the same toxins. Now there's an effort to change that.
