We wanted to put a few more care options as well as additional care times and days for children and families in need or want for care coverage. Understanding we have a capacity we follow due to State of Maine regulations and licensing, we are very fortunate to be nearing full capacity during our already operating hours Monday thru Friday 7:30am-5:00pm at this time. With all being said, we have a lengthy waitlist and a high demand for services!

We would like to hear from anyone in need or want for child care in the area- whether you live and work locally or afar, travel for work, seasonally live or are planning a visit...we would be happy to answer any questions and inquires for your child care needs!

What are your days and times of need for your child care needs?
What are the ages of your children you are in need of care for?
Would you find weekend care options helpful? If so, Saturday or Sunday or both?
Do you find you need after-school care, early morning or late evening care options?
Do you need or want for child care coverage for holidays or school vacations?

Our job as child care providers is so incredibly rewarding!
When you work in a daycare setting, as a provider, most people don’t realize just how many roles you hold in a single day. You aren’t just a provider. You’re the dishwasher, the cook, the janitor, the custodian, the door greeter, the diaper changer, the nurse, the teacher, the secretary, the housekeeper, the chaos coordinator, the counselor, the activity director… all of it.
But beyond all those titles, you are also a safe place.
You are a buddy.
A friend.
A protector.
An encourager.
A cuddler, snuggler and rocker.
And while we carry many job titles, most of us truly love what we do.
For us, the reward comes in the little moments — the ones we can’t put into words. It’s the huge smile when a child finally accomplishes something we’ve been working so hard on together. It’s the laughter and pure excitement when we’re doing something they love. It’s hearing, “I would never be able to do this — it’s too messy for my home!” during a messy activity… or “This is the best day ever!” during something simple but joyful.
It’s the random hugs.
The questions seeking answers.
The tiny arms wrapped around our necks.
The whispered “I love you.”
The moments when they tell us we are their best friend or how safe they feel when we are together at daycare.
Those moments are why we do this.
They’re why the long days are worth it.
And why, even on the exhausting days, our hearts feel so full!

🌱💚 Update for availability of childcare openings...

We wanted to share details on our services we provide at Busy Sprouts Daycare, located at 551 Central Street in Millinocket.

✨️✨️✨️✨️AS OF SEPTEMBER 5, 2025 WE ARE OPENING ON FRIDAYS 7:30AM-5:00PM!!

Currently, we are open 7:30AM-5:00PM Monday-Thursday. We provide care for children 12 weeks thru 12 years old.

We have 2 different programs:
7:30AM-12:30PM (infant/toddler 0-4yr)
and
12:30PM-5:00PM (school age 4yr+)

***Both half day and full days options are offered to all ages.
***Altered arrangements may be able to be accommodated upon request.

Due to our size being small in square footage, we are licensed for 9 children maximum given different age ranges and ratios of children to providers.

✨️✨️✨️✨️ At this time, we are accepting new enrollments, please call to inquire for your care needs.

We would be happy to have families receive, review and complete enrollment forms to have your child/children enrolled for drop-in care/as-need care as well as for weekly, monthly or seasonal childcare services.
***This option is helpful to most families for random days of need regardless of enrollment status.
