I wanted to make a logo for our STEAM program at MES to represent what this class is all about. 3rd grader Chase Jordan came through with the winning design, then got the opportunity to paint in on the wall in our STEAM lab...Wow! What an artist and hard working kiddo! Chase was at school every morning to work on his painting at 7:20 and spent over 8 hours throughout the project! His hard work is inspiring! Great job, Chase!

So incredibly proud of our 5th graders for being curious, excited, and positive about our collaboration week in specials. They learned structure engineering, lyric writing, rhythm, and parkour. In addition, they had to work together, step out of their comfort zones, and problem solve. (It was no different for our teachers!)

In the end, we put together a pretty cool rendition of Cardboard Castles by Watsky. Enjoy!

3rd graders are learning about weather and how we prepare for it. We have all made our straw weather vanes...now it’s time to kick it up a notch and design our own 3D printed model! We will be using Tinkercad to design our print and a Lulzbot Mini to print the weather vanes.
